  Cup Secrecy

Thanks for the recent clarification on secrecy costs which I read somewhere else. I actually thought that the 1 million secrecy cost was returned to budget after the race and didn't realise that it was (unlike the component costs) an absolute cost and not a temporary investment.

Perhaps this point could be written very clearly somewhere because I think a lot of players (so it seems) are making the same misjudgement of the rules and are therefore effectively throwing their budget away without realising it. Thankfully I only did it twice this season.

But what about next season giving free and automatic secrecy to ALL PFRL CUP RACE race teams during and after the group rounds? If we were all shooting in the dark (so to speak) the competition would be less prone to copy plus ERS tactics. And after each race the team choices are of course published so we can all see what happened.

Is this a crazy idea? Many

Interesting idea. Definitely agree re. the rules being crystal clear on the impact of using the secrecy option.

For avoiding Copy+ERS, I actually had an idea recently. I like being able to see what others are doing, BUT as some of my posts miiiiiight suggest, I'm against Copy+ERS as a strategy. So, how about....
- Keep part choices and ERS charge/discharge visible for Cup teams BUT make qualifying and fastest lap predictions invisible?

It's effectively a compromise, maintaining some visibility, but making it impossible for someone to totally copy things.
