  Retirement
Dear folks!

I want to announce my retirement after careful consideration.
The whole 12 years (!) of my participation where enjoyable and thrilling with you but my participation became more and more onerous after I won everything I could before the 2015. Then in 2015 I seemed to have lost my hunger for success and in such a highly competitive environment like the PFRL, you find yourself quickly in midrange.
2016 should be the year to get back at the top but I failed to do the necessary work in winter 2015/2016 and continued to produce errors during the season. I started to imagine what it's like to have a "free" Formula 1 weekend withou all the "work".
Although PFRL has lost many participants since many years, the fight for titles seemed to me growing more intense thanks to newer superstars Schumacher and CarlisleFrost while the old champions Maverick, GakraMotors maintained their high performance.

Returning competitor "funky-19" wrote in the german section of this forum, that although he returns to this site and hopes for good sport, he does not want to invest two hours per race weekened again. If it was even for hours for me each weekend, I'd even never have thought about retirement!

I'll be still watching every Formula 1 race this season and maybe a "sabbatical year" will be enough to return to PFRL with unstoppable force. If that never again won't be the case, then I won't return.

I wonder how a full Formula 1-season developes for me, if there is no need to carefully read Formula 1 news, watch free practices and keep my calculations up to date.
Will I still find myself hoping for driver #2 of Sauber and the likes?

I'll definitely have a look on here and watch how's everyone performing.

Stay happy in 2017 on PFRL and may some rookies win all the trophies this and the next years so that I can stay a little longer the one who collected the most trophies in the competitions.

Enjoy your time away Dominik....but please come back quickly. There's only one consolation to losing the big trophies....and that is losing them to a great player. And you were certainly that. But really great champions need to win the PFRL title 5 times - so we need you back

Greetings from the old Kreuzberg Kids.

In 2014 only one person finished above me in the world championship and yet I finished 5th.

Despite this I will miss competing with you.

its a great pity to loose you dominik, our gamer, who plays like a chess-computer, only to beat with instinkt, not in a mathemathic way. i think the competition gets harder year to year, i think, in spite of last two years, you would win sooner or later again with your way to play.
i also checked your teams most of the time, but not before the pit lane closed, i never can wait to that with my teams^^ but after that to look which components will increase the value, if all go the normal way
your way to play is the exactly opposite of my way, to watch this comparison was specific exciting for me, thank you for that. now i have to (or maybe i'm able to) adjust my focus to frosti and schumacher to beat them

Sad to hear that, since you've pretty much been the benchmark/person to beat since my early years on the site. Someone I wanted to emulate back when I was still learning the ropes, then a fierce, challenging rival through the last few years.

The records and achievements speak for themselves...
- More trophies than anyone else (I think).
- One of a rare few double world champions.
- The only 3-time constructors champion.
- 2nd most race wins.
- Most pole positions.
- CRL winner and twice runner up (probably the best record there).
- 3-time winner of the cup and the dominant force in that competition for many years.

Real shame you couldn't grab that damn fastest lap trophy once to complete a sweep (ignoring the Eliminator, as that's new!).

Hope you enjoy the upcoming season and the ability to relax (and not have to wake up at crazy hours to set teams for some of the races!) and you'll be missed!

Well, it s*cks. Now i have to find myself a new race series since there will be no World Championship of Nations. Jokes aside wondering why you still didn't sign up for PFRL i guess there is the answer.
I was always checking your teams before every race and in Constructors trying the guess when you will use your option tyres with your high budget teams. i gotta tell you, ers defective trick with your Bastlergarage team was very good. Beacuse of it, rules have changed PFRL will not be the same without you. Even if i win championship this year it doesn't feel good as last 2 years. You'll be truly missed. Hopefully you'll be joining us next year after taking a sabbatical year and having a break from PFRL. Enjoy Formula 1 season without PFRL.
